In late 2023, Michelle Li established Ms. L Wines after accumulating over a decade of experience in the Australian wine industry. Driven by a deep passion for creating wines with personality, Michelle embarked on a mission to share her unique creations with the world, hoping others would appreciate them as much as she does.
In 2024, Michelle celebrated her 10th year living in Australia and working in the Australian wine industry. This milestone inspired her to embark on a new chapter, yearning for a creative challenge that would allow her to fully express her winemaking philosophy. Michelle believes that wines should authentically express the unique characteristics of their territory, land, region, and the year in which they were crafted. To her, wines are history encapsulated in a bottle, ready to witness and enhance special occasions. Meanwhile, she is also a wine judge in both regional and national wine shows in Australia. (Including Royal Adelaide Wine Show; Australian Small Winemakers Show; Barossa, Clare Valley, Cowra/Single vineyard and ANZ Boutique Wine Shows)
Michelle's journey in the wine industry has been marked by a relentless curiosity to push the boundaries of winemaking. This curiosity, coupled with the flexibility to experiment and innovate, led her to craft her own wines. Her quest to source exceptional grapes and elevate them to their fullest potential drives her to continuously strive for excellence in every bottle of Ms. L Wines.
In 2024, serendipity smiled upon Michelle when her friend sourced an exceptional tonne of Eden Valley Riesling, while she acquired another tonne of organic Shiraz from the Inkwell project in McLaren Vale. With these fortuitous opportunities at hand, she decided to kickstart her winemaking journey by crafting a ton of white and a tonne of red, marking the beginning of her pursuit to create exceptional wines that capture the essence of the Australian terroir.
